Every morning at 8,20, a train departs from Faenza station which in less than 2 hours arrives at Santa Maria Novella in the centre of Florence. Nothing special, you might say, there are plenty of trains… but we’re telling you about this one because in addition to its famously fabulous destination, the journey itself is well worthwhile. The train’s slow speed, and its stops at all the little stations along the way, allows travellers to admire the forests and peaks of our Tuscany-Romagna Apennines, far from the crowds. And, saturated with Florence’s sights, you can return by train in the evening.
